If you’re a baker you’ll know that good quality bakeware is an essential, but it’s not always the most expensive item that has the best performance. Baking reguarly I not only need something that has good results (if I had a pound for every time something has stuck to the bottom of a tin I’d be a millionaire), but is durable too.
I recently had the opportunity to try out Stellar Cookware’s hard anodised range, and jumped at the chance. As soon as you touch the products you can tell they’re good quality and they feel and look as if they will stand the test of time.
Being hard anodised means that the aluminium used has been hardened by an electro-chemical process. For all us non-scientists, what this means is that the metal is left with extended durability, making it resistant to chips, peeling and corrosion. It also means that it is left with excellent heat conductivity, meaning even cooking- I’m sold!
I tried a loaf tin, muffin tin and sandwich tin. One of the things that initially impressed me was the range of different sizes on the website, meaning I can get bakeware for lots of different recipes and occasions.
When the items first arrived I was impressed with the quality look and feel of them. The dark colour makes them look really professional, and I couldn’t wait to get started. I made a loaf cake in the new loaf tin, and immediately noticed a difference in the evenness of my loaf. I often struggle with loaf tins, finding that the timings on recipes can vary a lot. This time round I got a nice even bake, meaning no burnt edges and soggy insides!
The items are hand wash only, but the burnt on mixture came off really easily, and my tins looked like new once I had used them.
